Caution!
The information on this site is based on WoW Anniversary Classic P1 - When WoW Forever becomes available the data will be progressively updated as new information comes to light.
Having a pull hunter in classic is pretty much required and makes raiding quicker, smoother and a dream for your raids tanks. Your goal as a pull hunter is to be ahead of the pack, bringing the mobs to the tanks as you progress through the raid. Below we are gonna go over some of the essential skills you need to practice to perfect yourhunter pulling.
Instructions
1. Be ahead of the pack at all times - your job is not to DPS on trash its purely to make sure the raid is moving along, so as soon as you have brought a target to raid start scouting for the next one.
2. Keep all tanks occupied - You want to keep as many tanks (usually 4) occupied as possible, in practice this means not just pulling one target at a time but keep bringing them as long as there are tanks ready to pick them up.
3. Observe healer mana using NRC - It is important to juggle between keeping a high pace but also know the limits of your healers. You want to push them hard, they should use mana potions and runes on trash so do not go softly! But its equally important to know when they are actually at their limit.
4. You set the pace - Remember you are in charge of the pace, the tanks, healers and dps work to the beat of YOUR drum, not the other way around. Read the room weather it is going to fast or to slow, but take charge!
5. Use discord - Actively communicate with your team, can you not see if all tanks are occupied? Ask in voice! Healer calling to slow down while you know the team has enough mana? He should also have NRC configured, but let him know it is fine!
6. Your pet is your friend - Do not be afraid to use your pet to pull if needed just be aware about where it paths, in some raids pet pathing can be an issue.
You now know the basics of what it means to be a pull hunter. Now is the time to do more research to get ready.
Good luck!
